Our community is thriving
Growth is our favorite topic!
The community has nearly doubled in size since April 2023, approximately one year ago from the time of this writing.
In addition to this, we’ve introduced other methods to keep in touch with our members, including a Slack Group and a LinkedIn Page. It’s important to note that not all Meetup members are also in our Slack group, and vice versa suggesting the combined total is closer to over 1000 PTE members.
Actively engaged members
Membership numbers only tell part of the story. The real intrinsic value comes when members connect, learn, and grow.
Currently, the two biggest indicators of PTE engagement are our Slack channel and events.
Members have posted over 1,000 messages since inception, with trending topics and compelling discussions happening weekly. It’s also worth mentioning
Our events typically attract dozens of Philadelphians, occasionally drawing in over 50 attendees.
According to reviews on our Meetup Page, these events are well-received, boasting an average rating of 4.7 out of 5.

Most community members find us through our events.
We do regular Happy Hours, Startup Pitch Events, and more, and we post these events on sites like Meetup and Eventbrite and tap into their organic traffic for hungry professionals looking for networking events.
PTE also ranks highly in Google Search for Philly Tech-related terms.
Finally, we supplement our organic growth with LinkedIn outreach to be sure those looking for a group like PTE, know how to find us and join our amazing community.
Event location preferences
We ask new members where they would like to attend events, which is more or less a proxy for where in the city they’re located.
The majority of our members operate in Center City and surrounding neighborhoods. However, we do have a small, but growing cohort of individuals who live out in the suburbs and have even hosted events in places outside of Philly such as Bucks County.
